PAEDII LUCHS

My Story

Hi, my name is Patrick Luchs, but friends call me Paedii.

I was born in 1988 into a place where valleys are full of life, rivers carve through ancient rock and forests climb toward the highest peaks that touch the clouds.

The Bernese Alps. Raw. Wild. Free.

Photography and the outdoors found me early in life. The creative process, the stillness, the way a single frame can hold a story and make you feel part of it. A community that understands why waiting hours for the perfect light matters.

The mountains quiet my mind. Rain, wind and sun make me feel alive and free. And the moon and the stars give me a sense of belonging to something bigger.

Still, I never felt like I truly belonged socially. I quietly carried the weight of not being enough. Of not being right the way I am. So I did what felt safe. Performing, running away, playing roles. I did what others expected of me. Just to fit in. Until I forgot who I truly was.

It’s the scariest thing to be yourself in a world that rewards anything but this.

I hit the bottom.

The outdoors was always there for me as a way to connect to myself. Eventually, through stillness, reflection and a painful amount of self-honesty I slowly started to accept myself. I am still learning to stop proving myself to the world — through introspection, journaling and conquering my fears in small steps.

So I keep capturing it.

But the mission changed. It’s about finding my real voice and sharing it through raw thoughts and photography.

I want my photography to raise awareness for the beautiful, fragile planet we call home. To help care for the mountains, the forests and all animals. Because the more I think about how this whole world works together, the more I realize it’s nothing short of a miracle. And it’s worth protecting.

The stories and experiences I share are unfiltered — to inspire deep thinking and help us find our authentic selves.

We deserve to be still, be free and belong.
